With the season of moody hues upon us, your clients will be looking for fresh takes on fall shades and designs. To help get you inspired, here’s how to create four nail designs with the autumn-ready Folk collection, from the team at Bio Sculpture Canada.
Pucci-inspired
Gels & Tools Used: Base Gel, Soft Gel, Hard/Medium Gel, Color Gels: Heart & Soul, The Artist’s Muse, Pursuit of Beauty, Free Lovin’, Gilded Reflection; #17 Deluxe Nail Art Brush.
1. On a prepared nail, apply a layer of Base Gel and cure.
2. Apply a layer of Heart & Soul, cure and repeat.
3. Apply stripes of varying width, shape and direction using alternating colors: stripes of The Artist’s Muse, Pursuit of Beauty and Free Lovin’ using a #17 Deluxe Nail Art Brush. Repeat if necessary to obtain desired color intensity. Tip: Flash cure stripes to ensure crisp edges.
4. Outline stripes with Gilded Reflection and cure.
4. Create the upper arch with Hard or Medium Gel and cure.
5. Apply final layer of Gloss Gel and cure.
Tie Dye
Gels & Tools Used: Base Gel, Soft Gel, Hard/Medium Gel, Color Gels: French White, Pursuit of Beauty, Free Lovin’; #17 Deluxe Nail Art Brush, Bio Stud Gems.
1. On a prepared nail, apply a layer of Base Gel and cure.
2. On a diagonal angle divide the nail and apply #182 Pursuit of Beauty to one half and Free Lovin’ to the other half and cure.
3. Repeat the application of color gels Pursuit of Beauty and Free Lovin’, do not cure. Apply a diagonal stripe of French White using a #17 Deluxe Nail Art Brush. Do not cure. With a clean #17 Deluxe Nail Art Brush drag from blue, through white and into the green gel. Repeat to achieve desired effect and cure.
4. Apply a layer of Soft Gel and place Stud Gems on the white line at regular intervals and cure.
5. Create the upper arch with Hard Medium Gel and cure.
6. Apply final layer of Gloss Gel and cure.
IKAT
Gels & Tools Used: Base Gel, Soft Gel, Hard/Medium Gel, Color Gels: Heart & Soul, The Artist’s Muse, Pursuit of Beauty, Gilded Reflection; #17 Deluxe Nail Art Brush.
1. On a prepared nail, apply a layer of Base Gel and cure.
2. Apply a layer of Heart & Soul. Cure and repeat.
2. Apply four large triangles of The Artist’s Muse. Cure and repeat. Tip: Flash cure triangles to ensure crisp edges.
3. Apply a smaller triangle inside the larger triangle using Gilded Reflection. Cure and repeat if necessary.
4. With a #17 Nail Art Brush, apply very fine, short stripes along the edge of small and large triangles and cure. Repeat if necessary.
5. Create the upper arch with Hard Medium Gel and cure.
6. Apply final layer of Gloss Gel and cure.
Tribal
Gels & Tools Used: Base Gel, Soft Gel, Hard/Medium Gel, Colour Gels: French White, Heart & Soul, The Artist’s Muse, Pursuit of Beauty, Free Lovin’; #17 Deluxe Nail Art Brush.
1. On a prepared nail, apply a layer of Base Gel and cure.
2. Apply a layer of Heart & Soul, cure and repeat.
3. Apply alternating patterns of French White, The Artist’s Muse, Pursuit of Beauty and Free Lovin’ using a #17 Deluxe Nail Art Brush. Repeat if necessary to obtain desired color intensity. Tip: Flash cure stripes to ensure crisp edges.
5. Create the upper arch with Hard Medium Gel and cure.
6. Apply final layer of Gloss Gel and cure.
