15 Piece Nail Art Brush Set Review from Born Pretty Store

Hello everyone! I hope you are having a great day! I have something pretty awesome to share with you today. I was contacted by Born Pretty Store to review a product here on my blog and of course I said yes! I chose to review THIS BRUSH SET. On the Born Pretty Store it is called 15pc Nail Art Design Brush Set Dotting Dot Pen Drawing. It is a 15 piece set assortment of nail art brushes and even a small dotting tool!

If you want to read more about these brushes and to see each brush and a few examples from some of them please click "Read More" below underneath the picture!

I know that I have a lot of viewers here and on YouTube that are just starting out with nail art and I always get a ton of questions about what nail art brushes would be good to get and I can never give an exact set because I always have used cheap brushes that I bought at Walmart and cut myself to make them really small. So I thought this would be a great opportunity to test out some nail art brushes to share with you guys!

These brushes are very affordable at only $5.96 (US Dollars). That is the price for one set. Shipping is free world wide!

If you use the code GDL91 when you are checking out you can receive 10% off your order!

Onto the review! The brushes come in a little plastic package so they are all contained and can be easily stored in a drawer. Most of the brushes also come with a nice little plastic tube to keep the brush bristles protected. I find these little tubes to be a personal pain in my butt so I just took all of them off and threw them away. They are really difficult to get back onto the striping brushes without ruining the bristles and bending them over. As long as you store them in the larger plastic casing the brushes will be perfectly fine.

Below I have a photo of every single brush and dotting tool that is in the pack. If you see a bluish tint or a dirty look to any of the brushes it's because I have used them and I couldn't get all of the paint out, or the paint stained the white bristles. I also have a few photos from testing. They are non cleaned up nail photos so I hope they don't burn your eyes too much. They're definitely not pretty, but they give you an idea of what a few of the brushes can do

This brush is a small detail brush. The bristles are short and so is the handle. The short handle helps keep your hand steady while you are working on tiny nail art details. It's about 3/4 the size of the other brush handles. The bristles are soft and I had no problems using this one. Even though it's nice for fine details, I tried out a chevron pattern with this one. It works well for larger areas as well.

Here's a large square end brush. This one was a little large for my nails, but it will definitely come in handy when trying to paint large sections or cleaning up around the cuticles.

Another square brush very similar in size to the one above but a tiny bit bigger with different bristles, white ones. They also have a slightly different texture. The bristles in the brush above were softer than the bristles on the one below. Can you see the blue paint stuck in the white bristles? It's not a huge deal, but heavily pigmented polishes may stain the white brushes. It won't affect the usage in any way though. I did a quick cross hatch design with the tip of this brush.

China Glaze Gothic Lolita, Blue Acrylic Paint

Another square end brush. This one is much smaller than the two above and it is really nice for making squares and it will also be nice for people who like to do one stroke painting. The black is paint that I couldn't get completely out of the bristles because I'm impatient when it comes to cleaning brushes. Ha!

All of the square brushes side by side.

This brush is a rounded brush that almost comes to a point at the top. Similar to a tear drop shape. I really love this brush! I like to use it for flower petals. The brushes are short and a little firmer than the other ones and it makes it really nice for fine details as well.

I thought this brush was interesting! It has a bend! At first I thought I was going to absolutely hate it, but I stopped myself and said "Come on Sam... If you were bent in half you would want someone to love you too" As it turns out... I LOVE IT! It helps so much when you are trying to do a design! You know how when you are using a straight brush and it feels like your wrists are going to break when you're trying to get your hands in a position that will get to that hard to reach spot of your nail? Anyone else feel like that or am I just a weirdo? Anyway.. There's none of that when you have this brush!

This brush set also comes with 2 angled (or chiseled) brushes. They are both close to the same size, but this first one slightly larger has the brownish bristles which seemed softer than the angled brush with the white bristles. Angled brushes are also a popular choice for one stroke nail art. I attempted to show an example below, but I'm terrible at one stroke. Go figure.

And here is the other angled brush with the white bristles. This one is slightly smaller than the previous angled brush. Stained bristles from the acrylic paint again! That's really not a big deal though, trust me. Nail art fail below. It wasn't the brush's fault. The brush is perfectly find and works great! I though of a pattern and gave it a try and well.. Things can't always work out the way you want them to right?
