Nail Art Stamping Biography

Source(google.com.pk)

Hi everyone!  My name is Andrea and I’m a self proclaimed gel polish addict!  The majority of my blog posts are about nail polish or nail art.  Before discovering gel polish I hated doing my nails because the polish always chipped off within a day or two… not any more!  Now my nails are never naked and I’m completely obsessed.

I started out on a mission to swatch all of the Gelish colors available, which I have now completed.  I’ve since branched out and hope to be able to provide information on a wider variety of brands over time. I’ve received a lot of positive feedback about my swatches and hope that they are helpful to you when selecting new colors.

I live in Shaker Heights, a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio.  I have one daughter and she’s now college-age (hard to believe) and is attending Ohio State University and is on the med school path (proud mama!!).  I own a small web design business called 2TechChicks and specialize in e-commerce web development and design.

My hobbies include gardening, cooking, reading, skiing, and crafts.  I’m one of the founding members and President of a local community garden. The garden is my home away from home in the warmer months.

I applied this gorgeous creamy purple polish from Bio Seaweed Gel (BSG) called Star Struck to my nails to take a swatch picture, and I didn’t want to take it off!  Star Struck is a very unique shade of dark purple that sometimes appears to be more of a blurple (blue-ish purple).  I thought it would work great as a backdrop for a colorful design, and this is what I ended up with.
Floral stamped nails by Chickettes.com - Bio Seaweed Gel Star Struck Stamped with Mundo de Unas and WistoniaI added this floral design over top of BSG UNITY Star Struck using a floral pattern from the Wistonia Wedding Bliss stamping plate. This plate has some really adorable wedding-themed images, which you can see in the image below.  If you’re getting married, or know someone that is, this plate would be great for creating some cute shower or wedding nails.  I love the little “I DO!” bubble.

I applied the stamps with my XL squishy stamper and a pink stamping polish from Mundo de Unas.  I also used the pink polish and a dotting tool to create the dots on my index finger and pinky.  I wanted to make the leaves on the floral image green, so I used a small nail art brush and a green Mundo de Unas polish and traced over the stamp.  The green might be a little too bright, but it works.
No, the Mundos are the best polishes I have for stamping over black. I think (and hope) that they will ship internationally again and that this is just temporary. I’m trying to see what I can find out  :)
Thanks Andrea. I have just come across another one “Moon Nails” Mexico. Solid stamping colours. They only have a facebook page, which you can order on. I have messaged them for info, it’s a bit cheaper postage to UK. I might taKe the chance and order a few! Don’t know when Mundo will be shipping again, getting impatient! Lol…anyway, check it out
I posted swatches of the CND Shellac Modern Folklore collection the other day and I was inspired by the color Plum Paisley to actually create plum paisley nails.  The paisley image on Bundle Monster stamping plate BM-315 is one of my favorite patterns.  I’ve created other nail art looks with this stamp in the past, so it may look familiar.
To get this look, I started with a base of CND Shellac Plum Paisley.  After applying and curing my base color, I added a thin layer of gel top coat, cured and wiped the tacky layer. I decided to stamp my nails twice with the BM-315 paisley pattern, but using two different colors – a Mundo de Unas purple and China Glaze Passion.  BTW, China Glaze Passion is one of my favorite gold polishes to stamp with… my bottle is almost empty!

Before stamping, I prepped my fingers with a product called Liquid Palisade by Kiesque.  If you’ve never heard of Liquid Palisade, it’s a liquid barrier that you paint onto your skin around the nails to make cleaning up polish mishaps easier.  It’s great for nail art, stamping and water marbling.  The photo below demonstrates how the product works.  When you apply Liquid Palisade to your skin it starts out a light purple shade like you see in the bottle, but it quickly dries and becomes darker and more transparent as seen on my ring finger below.  On my middle finger I demonstrated how easily the product peels off, and you can see that it also removed all of the excess stamping polish with it.  And my index finger shows the end result after peeling off the product… perfectly clean skin, no polish remover needed!

Liquid Palisade for easy nail art stamping clean-up!

Note that when the Liquid Palisade is on your skin, you don’t want to let your finger tips touch one another.  They will stick together and it could cause the Liquid Palisade to peel off prematurely.  Also, if you mess up while stamping and use nail polish remover to remove the pattern and start over, you will also have to reapply the Liquid Palisade again because it will also come off in the process.  I have done both of these things, so I just thought I’d mention it.  LOL
